$300 Grants Available for Fall Semester Language Maintenance Tutorials: Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, Turkish

Do you want to keep up with your Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, or Turkish? Apply to receive a $300 grant sponsored by The Middle East Institute to take tutorials coordinated by the Language Resource Center (LRC) at Columbia University. 

Each semester, the LRC offers non-credit language tutorials designed to provide students with prior knowledge of a given language the opportunity to maintain and advance their skills in that language. Every Language Maintenance Tutorial (LMT) is instructed by a Columbia graduate student, and meets for ten (10) sessions of ninety (90) minutes each over the course of the semester.  

Registration for students interested in taking a tutorial opens at the start of the Fall semester, on Monday, September 19th, 2016, and will remain open until Tuesday, October 11th, 2016. For more information about the registration process or to learn how to become a language tutor at the LRC, please click here. 

Subsidies are limited to 10 students a semester and available on a first come, first served basis.  Students must contact the Language Resource Center located in the IAB. If awarded, the grant will be applied directly by the LRC; there is no need to contact the Middle East Institute.
