Join Maison Française and the Middle East Institute for a lecture in French with author Sarga Moussa on: Le Mythe bédouin chez les voyageurs européens, ou la possibilité d’un autre orientalisme.
Sarga Moussa talks about his new book, Le Mythe Bédouin chez les voyageurs aux XVIII et XIX siècles, which explores the myths about Arab nomads that emerged among European travelers in the 18th and 19th centuries. These depictions reflect a different kind of orientalist discourse with varied ideological consequences.
Sarga Moussa is a Directeur de recherche at the CNRS, Unité mixte de recherche THALIM (Théorie et histoire des arts et des littératures de la modernité), Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3.
