"This thesis aims to analyze the Taliban movement of Afghanistan and Pakistan using studies developed by the academic disciplines of anthropology, history and religion. I will offer interpretations and opinions, inter alia, on the Taliban's putative Islamic views, mode of governance, political goals and tribal support. I also examine their Weltanschauung, that is, I will try to see things from their point of view, and interpret the Taliban version of "why we fight.’”
