HOME: Films from Iran and the Arab World

Our goal is to present films that are representative of a vast array of cultural, social, and political identities, and raise awareness about regional issues and their cinematic reflections and reverberations in relation to our central theme.

Wednesday, November 11: Children of Heaven by Majid Majidi, Iran. Location: Milbank Hall Room 328

Thursday, November 12: Women Without Men by Shirin Neshat, Iran. Location: Auditorium, Barnard Hall
 

Friday, November 13: Four Women of Egypt by Tahani Rached, Egypt. Location: Milbank Hall Room 328  * This screening will be accompanied by remarks and a facilitated discussion by Dr. Moneera Al-Ghadeer, Visiting Professor of Arabic and Comparative Literature, MESAAS.

Saturday, November 14: Where Do We Go Now? by Nadine Labaki, Lebanon. Location: Krueger Lecture Hall, Milbank 6:30pm
 

The screenings are completely free and open to the public, and purely in the interest of promulgating Arab and Iranian culture and its various related issues across geographies.
